Book time for Civil Registration at the International Citizen Service Centre  

Please note that you must bring:

• Valid passport or national ID card
• Rental contract/address
• Evidence of your civil registration number from your home country
• Original marriage certificate, if you are married
• Original birth certificate, if you have children

If you submit all the required documents, an ICS assistant will issue your CPR number and register you at the address within 10-20 minutes.

Your Danish health insurance card will be delivered to your new address in Denmark by post within 14-21 days after the registration.

Please make sure to have your name on the post box, otherwise your health insurance card will be returned to the Citizens Service Centre.

Book time for MitID (personal digital signature in Denmark). To get MitID you must come personally to Citizen Service Centre and bring valid documents to verify your identity. You must also bring a witnesser with you, who can verify who you are. Your witnesser must bring valid documentation.

Please note, that there is a possibility of obtaining the digital signature MitID with passport. The MitID app can read the chip in your passport and confirm your identity. Read more about obtaining MitID with passport.

In case MitID application fails to verify your identity, book time and follow step 3 above.

EU/ EEA citizens must obtain residence permit before registering at a Danish address and acquiring Danish CPR number.

Before applying for a residence permit at SIRI office in Esbjerg, please book an appointment at SIRI.

Regarding the type of residence permit (worker, student, self-employed person, person with sufficient funds, posted service provider, family member to an EU citizen), you must fill in the required application and submit all necessary documents.

After you obtain your Danish residence permit, SIRI office will book time for you at the International Citizen Service for civil registration and Danish CPR number (civil registration number).
