Youth Municipality of the Year 2008

The Danish Youth Council has voted Esbjerg Municipality Youth Municipality of the Year. Esbjerg beat the municipalities of Fredensborg and Næstved, who finished second and third respectively. Esbjerg Municipality won the award for instigating a number of youth-based initiatives, including the provision of excellent support for the established network of youth clubs and associations, a broad range of leisure-time activities and laying the groundwork for a comprehensive youth policy.
